It keeps employees up to date on the current events and news of Wickes, provide valuable search information and creates an online "community" atmosphere that enhances production and fosters team oriented growth.
The interface was developed to accommodate any future tool development and the flexibility of the system allows controlled user access to these tools based on title, department/center or custom access.
Implementation of the Customer Management System provided a centralized location to manage all aspects of the customer relationship. Users are able to do in-depth historical analysis and reporting, future forecasting and benchmarking, target market based on report suggestions, develop an expanded customer profile and keep logs of any significant contact or marketing activity.
The Sales Analysis tool allows a user, starting at a market level, to drill down into the sales and margin information and view slices of sales by customer, sales reps, category and class sales, and center sales. Once in each of these slices, the user can further drill down and sort the information. Sales can be sorted by largest sales and largest deviation in sales.
A customer's credit code letter and credit limit is available providing the ability to have all sales, margin and credit information at a single glance.
The Sales Margin and Quota System is a tool for managers and sales reps to manage and analyze sales expectations. For market managers the tool rolls up the actual sales and quota numbers as well as gross margin percent by their market. The manager can drill down into the market to view specific sales reps performance for that sales period by product category and class and compare those numbers against their specified quotas.
Sales representatives logging into the system would receive their specific sales and margin data and the quotas assigned to them by product category and class.
The Customer Profile System stores address and contact information, demographics, Wickes Advantage Program status as well as activity logged into the Activity Reports tool.
Security is based on the management hierarchy with sales reps being able to view their customers, center managers would have access to their center and market managers the entire market.
Sales reps and managers can log all contact with their customers and specify whether follow-up actions are necessary. Reporting can be done on a management level to view activity by a sales rep or associated to a customer. This system ties into the Customer Profile System to create a synchronized profile of the customer.
The Market Share Report details the actual and potential market share of a customer. The sales rep would enter the number of housing starts and average square footage of the customer. The tool would analyze the sales reps current sales to that customer and show the share of wallet Wickes currently has in each product category. The sales rep can also create a plan and save it for future benchmarking.
The customer profitability system is a powerful tool that can be used to determine the most and least profitable customers and identify opportunities to improve them. By allocating income and expense items like rebates, purchase discounts, and store expenses to each customer, a manager can get a better picture of how much a customer contributes to their center's bottom line. And by allocating receivables, payables, and inventory they can see how much capital they have invested in a customer and ultimately the return on this working capital.
